Where does Amanita Muscaria come from?

How to make Amanita Muscaria tea!

Making Amanita muscaria tea is a traditional process that can enhance the beneficial properties of this unique mushroom while minimizing its less desirable effects. To start, you will need dried Amanita muscaria caps, water, and fresh lemon juice. Begin by gently crushing the dried mushroom caps into smaller pieces to increase their surface area, which aids in the extraction of their active compounds.

Boil a pot of water and then let it cool slightly to about 90°C (194°F). This temperature is optimal to extract the desired compounds without destroying them. Add the crushed Amanita muscaria to the hot water and allow it to steep for 20-30 minutes. During this time, the water will begin to absorb the mushroom's active components.

To enhance the extraction process and improve the flavor, add a generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the tea. The acidity of the lemon juice helps convert ibotenic acid into the more desirable muscimol, reducing potential adverse effects. After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the mushroom solids, leaving you with a clear, amber-hued tea. Sip the tea slowly, starting with a small amount to gauge its effects. Remember to always approach Amanita muscaria with caution and respect, as its potency can vary.
